ProQuest Launches Social Network for Library Schools

Librarians and library students can now connect with each other and access free career and education resources through a new social network designed for the library sciences.

ProQuest's new Graduate Education Program (GEP) brings together components of the company's development programs for library schools to create Discover More Corps, a social networking site where students and faculty can network and find tools, training, and relevant to their field.

Resources featured on the site include:

  • ProQuest databases, collections, knowledge bases, and reference materials;
  • Free curriculum development assets;
  • Live and on-demand training and class presentations;
  • Student trainer internship program; and,
  • Awards and internship opportunities.

Wayne State University's School of Library and Information Science has been testing the new GEP throughout its development "with great success," said Associate Professor Hermina Anghelescu in a prepared statement issued by ProQuest.

To use the site, LIS instructors must first register for the GEP. Once this is complete, they and their students will gain full access to the site's resources.

To register for GEP, contact [email protected]. Additional information about the program is available at the company's Web site.
