ASU Colleges at Lake Havasu To Partner with Pearson To Provide EBooks ELearning Platform

Students who attend a new program at ASU Colleges at Lake Havasu City in Arizona will receive access to e-books and LearningStudio through a partnership with Pearson.

The education company will also provide help desk support for students, faculty, and administrators for the e-learning platform.

This effort is part of an initiative by Arizona State University to serve "a more affordable" option to local students who are interested in high-demand undergraduate degrees. The option will be available beginning in the fall, and tuition will be $6,000 per year for Arizona residents, and $9,000 for non-residents.

Beginning in the fall, the Colleges will add five bachelor-degree programs, including general studies, organizational leadership, communications, psychology, and life sciences.

"Our freshman year learning community will focus on the trans-disciplinary theme of Sustainable Cultures, of which the use of e-books is an important component," said David Young, director of ASU Colleges at Lake Havasu City. "Moving forward, we will work closely with local school districts as well as the Mohave Community College to create pathways for more ASU degrees."

Other partners in this program include the Arizona Board of Regents, Lake Havasu City, Lake Havasu Unified School District, and the Lake Havasu Foundation for Higher Education.
