Birmingham Southern College To Launch New Student Recruitment CRM System
Birmingham-Southern College (BSC) in Alabama plans to implement a new cloud-based customer relationship management (CRM) system to help manage, integrate, and automate the student recruitment process, from the initial point of contact with potential students through to the enrollment process.
BSC had been using another CRM system, which no longer fit its needs. The school chose TargetX's Recruitment CRM solution as a replacement system based on the school's positive previous experience with TargetX consultants and because the system met all of the school's criteria.
One of the key features that sold BSC on TargetX Recruitment CRM was its reporting capabilities.
"It will allow much more flexibility than the system we have now to pull reports based on historical data," said Sheri Salmon, associate vice president of admissions at BSC, in a prepared statement. "That will help us manage our prospects better and make better decisions."
TargetX also includes built-in electronic communication tools, such as email broadcasting and online chat functions, that will help BSC staff keep in touch with prospects.
"This will enable our counselors to truly manage their territories," said Salmon. "Not just send an occasional email, but really communicate effectively over time--and be able to track those communications."
TargetX recently announced two other cloud-based CRM modules for higher education: Advancement CRM and Retention CRM. BSC has not announced plans to implement these other two modules at this time. All three of TargetX's CRM modules are built on the Force.com platform of Salesforce.com.
Birmingham-Southern College is a four-year, liberal arts institution located in Birmingham, AL. It serves more than 1,300 students in its six Bachelor's degree programs.
