U Virginia Moves to Browser-Based Records Management System
The University of Virginia will implement new physical records management software, which will enable the university to manage the entire lifecycle of its physical records, from creation to disposition.
The university selected Infolinx WEB from Infolinx System Solutions to track research, corporate, and facilities management records. The university's implementation of Infolinx WEB will also use RMBridge from O'Neil Data Tech to integrate with offsite storage providers to enable "seamless transfer of records to and from these vendors," according to Infolinx.
Infolinx WEB generates automated email notifications and will follow an enterprise retention schedule based on the one maintained by the Library of Virginia. According to the company, these features will improve the university's workflow process.
Infolinx WEB uses a browser-based interface, so staff can use it through Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, or Safari. To maintain security of information transferred through the Web interface, Infolinx WEB uses a configurable security model and will integrate with the university's NetBadge authentication protocol.

The University of Virginia operates 11 schools in Charlottesville and the College at Wise in southwest Virginia. It serves more than 14,500 undergraduate and 6,000 graduate students, and employs nearly 8,000 full-time faculty and staff.
