Panasonic Debuts Lamp-Free Projectors for Education

Panasonic has debuted four new lamp-free single chip DLP projectors for education facilities. The Solid Shine Series projectors with LED/laser light source all feature 3,500 lumens of brightness and are designed to operate up to 20,000 hours without maintenance, according to a company statement.

Panasonic's PT-RZ370U and PT-RW330U offer native resolutions of 1,920 x 1,080 (1080p) and 1,280 x 800 (WXGA), respectively, and a contrast ratio of 10,000:1.The PT-RZ470UK/UW features 1,920 x 1,080 (1080p) resolution while the PT-RW430UK/UW comes with 1,280 x 800 (WXGA) resolution. Both units have a contrast ratio of 20,000:1.

All Solid Shine series projectors offer multiple installation options, as well as "2x zoom, wide lens shift capability, HDMI/DVI digital inputs and Crestron RoomView compatibility." Additional features of the PT-RZ470 line—the PT-RZ470UK/UW and PT-RW430UK/UW—include 3D and portrait mode projection, edge blending, and color matching capability.

Panasonic's new projectors come with the company's Digital Link technology, which, when used with the ET-YFB100G Digital Interface Box, can relay "uncompressed HD digital video, audio and control signals (Ethernet, RS-232C) for up to 100 meters (328 feet) through a single CAT5e (STP) cable or higher." The ET-YFB100G Digital Interface Box can be used with Digital Link-compatible projectors by other manufacturers.

The PT-RZ370U and PT-RW330U are available now for $5,899 and $4,599, respectively. The PT-RZ470UK/UW and PT-RW430UK/UW will be available next month for $6,799 and $5,499, respectively. All models come with a three-year limited warranty. Illumination parts are covered under warranty for up to 10,000 hours.
