Washington State Community and Technical Colleges Standardize Admin Software
The Washington State Board of Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC) plans to update and standardize its administrative software across all 34 campuses. The project, called ctcLink, will replace the college system's 30-year-old legacy solution.
SBCTC chose Ciber, an IT consulting company, to implement and maintain the new system, which consists of numerous Oracle enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications, including Oracle's PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, PeopleSoft Human Capital Management, PeopleSoft Financial Management, Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, and Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management. SBCTC's contract with Ciber is for a period of five years.
By standardizing software across its campuses, students, faculty, and staff who are associated with multiple campuses will be able to use a single online ID and common set of processes. The new system will also let SBCTC automate some of its labor-intensive manual processes.
SBCTC chose Ciber because of its previous experience in the higher education market, as well as its expertise in Oracle products. "This opportunity leverages some of Ciber's greatest strengths: higher education background, Oracle expertise, and managed services delivery," said Mike Dillon, higher education vice president for Ciber and Oracle practice leader, in a prepared statement.
The Washington State Board of Community and Technical Colleges is headquartered in Olympia with an e-learning office in Spokane and a IT division office in Bellevue. The board provides leadership and coordination for 34 public community and technical colleges throughout the state.
