Rapid Insight Adds Collaboration to Predictive Analytics Software

Rapid Insight, a provider of predictive analytics and data intelligence software, has updated its software to include new collaboration features and integration with big data tools.

According to Mike Laracy, founder and CEO of Rapid Insight, the significant increase in the amount of data available to organizations has resulted in "an increasing demand for incorporating predictive analytics into everyday business decisions, which means more users need to access and understand the results."

In response to that evolving need, the company has added new collaboration features for predictive modeling and reporting to help people turn data into information more easily. According to the company, the updates to Rapid Insight will enable everybody in an organization to conduct on-demand analysis and reporting, making it easier for analysts and data scientists to develop and share data insights.

"We’ve always been committed to being data agnostic and making the life of the data scientist easier by eliminating any data barriers," said Laracy in a prepared statement. "With our latest release, we’ve taken a giant leap toward making the value of predictive analytics available to anyone within the company."

Other updates to Rapid Insight include:

  • Ability to read and write data to and from Hadoop;
  • Ability to incorporate big data into predictive models with the use of Hive; and
  • Ability to write to Tableau and Tableau Online with a single click to visualize, share, and communicate results of predictive models.

The company has created two versions of Rapid Insight: Enterprise and Runner. Rapid Insight Enterprise lets people share predictive modeling jobs and uses a simpler software delivery model that is intended to ease the burden on IT staff. The Runner version lets analysts and decision makers run analytic processes without the need for a full developer license.
