Oregon State University Adds Coaching for Online Students

Oregon State University (OSU) Ecampus has inked a deal that will provide incoming online students with personal coaching and feedback on the overall online experience as part of the school's continuous improvement efforts.

OSU Ecampus chose InsideTrack as its partner in the new program, which will initially serve 680 incoming online students during the 2013-14 school year, according to a release.

"Students growing up in an online world are increasingly looking for high-quality online options for pursuing a college degree," said Ecampus associate provost Dave King in a prepared statement. "Our partnership with InsideTrack will enable us to maintain the commitment to quality that has made us one of the top online programs in the country while we continue to grow and expand."

In addition to the "executive-style" one-on-one coaching and mentoring that incoming students will receive, the company will also provide Ecampus leadership with "qualitative and quantitative insights on the student experience to support the ongoing improvement of policies and practices," according to a release.

"InsideTrack provides deep expertise in personalizing the online student experience at scale and improving educational outcomes," said Chris Tilghman, vice president of program development at InsideTrack, in a release. "Like Oregon State Ecampus, we firmly believe that you do not have to sacrifice quality in order to grow."

Oregon State Ecampus offers more than 30 online graduate and undergraduate programs. More information is available at ecampus.oregonstate.edu.
