Unicon Launches Test Drive Student Success Plan
Open source education technology service provider Unicon has launched Test Drive Student Success Plan, an open source case management suite "that supports a holistic coaching and counseling model for improving retention, academic performance, persistence, time to degree, and graduation rates," according to Unicon. Test Drive SSP is a practice environment that lets users try out features of SSP.
The announcement was made at the Educause 2013 conference, taking place this week in Anaheim, CA.
“Test Drive SSP plays an important role for institutions considering implementing student success case management software,” said Russ Little, project director for SSP, in a prepared statement. “Giving institutions the chance to evaluate the SSP toolset proves invaluable in their decision-making process.”
With Test Drive, users can try out the SSP 2.0 software as a coach, counselor, advisor, or student. The coach, counselor, and advisor roles provide access to case management tools, including a dashboard for viewing information from the student information system, as well as Action Plan, Journal, and My Academic Plan (MAP) academic advising tools. The student role provides access to the MyGPS student interface, which lets students manage their action items, view their MAP, and prepare for interactions with a coach, counsellor, or advisor.
Unicon provides services and support for SSP 2.0, including pre-implementation assessment; installation and technical configuration; integration with student information systems, learning management systems, or other systems; custom development, training, and hosting.

Unicon is exhibiting at the Educause conference this week in booth 322.
