Cengage To Integrate Talend's Platform for Big Data
Cengage will integrate
Talend's Platform for Big Data into its cloud infrastructure. The integration is designed to help the company understand learning objectives and outcomes, as well as how students use its product.
"By taking advantage of Talend for our Big Data initiative, we will be able to improve the efficacy of our instructional products, a key differentiator that will ultimately improve results for students on a global scale," said George Moore, chief technology officer at Cengage Learning, in a prepared statement.
"Using the cloud for the company's big data initiative enables the IT department to be more responsive in terms of how much data can be consumed, while allowing them to leverage automatically-generated MapReduce jobs to analyze big data to find correlations, causation and relationships," according to a news release. "By adding Talend's data services capabilities, Cengage Learning is also able to provide a stable and evolutionary data movement and delivery architecture that will support other initiatives and projects moving forward."
