Brief: Aleratec Intros Tablet Charging Stations

Aleratec, a manufacturer of high-performance digital media duplicators and portable device management products, is introducing the Charge and Guard Secure Charge/Sync Cabinet 16, a lockable metal cabinet for charging, syncing and storing tablets and other devices. Sixteen tablet bays, sized at 13 x 10.5 x 9 inches, accommodate large devices and protective cases. Integrated USB ports are outfitted with the company's "Active Smart-Charge" technology (for rapid charging) and provide 2.4 amps of power per port.

A welded anchor loop allows administrators to chain the cabinet to a fixed structure for added security. A laptop computer can be connected via the external USB port for synchronization. Other features include charge and sync LED indicators as well as an internal cooling fan.

The company has also unveiled the Charge and Sync Station 16, which offers similar features without the lockable cabinet. Both products will be available for shipment in the first quarter of 2014.
