Dell Forms Youth Advisory Board for Ed Tech

Dell has pulled together a group of 12 "youth leaders" to help guide the development of its education offerings.

The group, collectively known as the Dell Youth Innovation Advisors, are each 21 or younger and will act as "advocates for the student voice and ensure Dell is providing students with the tools they need to succeed." The group will review and test Dell products and "use their intimate understanding of modern learning environments to inform how technology and services can lead to enhanced experiences in and outside of the classroom." They'll also work with a nonprofit called Student Voice, which will provide mentoring, and will help guide other initiatives within Dell, including "entrepreneurship and corporate social responsibility goals."

"Student Voice is excited about the diverse student voices that are represented in the Dell 12 under 22. We are grateful for our continued partnership with Dell, supporting student voices in and out of the classroom," said Zak Malamed, founder of Student Voice, in a prepared statement. "This is an important step, as we empower students to influence the conversation regarding all aspects of their educational experience. We look forward to spearheading the creation of more opportunities for student voices to be heard with the Youth Innovation Advisors."

The list of inaugural Dell Youth Innovation Advisors includes:

  • Jack Andraka;
  • Sixto Cancel;
  • Ritankar Das;
  • Cynthia Hass;
  • Jordan Howard;
  • Parker Liautaud;
  • Erik Martin;
  • Ryan Orbuch;
  • Yingying Shang;
