Michigan State University is enhancing the functionality of its Kuali Financial System with integration of a third-party purchasing service. The school will be using ESM Solutions' easyPurchase for electronic procurement.
Kuali is an open source organization that develops and maintains business applications for institutions of higher education. Michigan State is one of the founding schools in that initiative. ESM produces cloud-based spend management and purchasing applications and works with its customers to integrate those services with existing systems.
The goal at Michigan State is to provide a more intuitive end user experience and allow for a more seamless workflow between the existing software and the new software.
"Our easyPurchase solution will empower MSU's efforts to improve their current procurement process by creating additional efficiencies and savings," said Anthony Rotoli, ESM's vice president of sales and business development.
ESM's purchasing software is also in use by Indiana's Ivy Tech Community College, Delaware Valley College in Pennsylvania and Hawaii Pacific University, among others.
