Southern Adventist U Adopts Discovery Service To Improve Access to Resources

Southern Adventist University has adopted a new discovery service in an effort to improve access to library resources.

The Tennessee-based university chose EBSCO Discovery Services (EDS) and began implementing the system a few months ago.

"We've had a very good experience with the EDS Service Engineers during set-up, and we are taking advantage of the customization features including using colors that fit within the Southern Adventist University Visual Identification Guide, and that provide a close match to our Web site colors. We are also implementing widgets for LibGuides and LibAnswers as soon as we can," said Stan Cottrell II, technical services librarian at Southern Adventist, in a prepared statement.

"We selected EBSCO due to real time availability checking linked into our catalog, tight integration with Illiad [document delivery service] and the high success rate of accurate article retrieval via our link resolver," added Cottrell.
