Lane College Implements Unified ERP System

Lane College in Jackson, TN has implemented a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to help automate processes and improve registration and admissions services.

The college's previous systems required staff to maintain data for recruitment and admissions in two separate databases, which meant they had to reconcile the two sets of data manually. The college was also using time-consuming manual processes for procedures such as student registration.

To streamline and automate these processes, the college decided to replace its existing software with a new ERP system. The college selected CAMS Enterprise from Three Rivers Systems after the company demonstrated how it could make the school "more effective and efficient," according to Logan Hampton, president of Lane College, in a news release from the company.

With CAMS Enterprise, all of the school's recruitment and admissions data will reside in one shared database, eliminating the manual reconciliation process. It will also automate the registration process for students and staff, "which in turn will allow our staff to spend more time advising students versus processing paperwork," said Hampton.

According to information on the company's site, CAMS Enterprise manages the full admissions-to-alumni lifecycle in an integrated system with a single database, eliminating duplicated information and effort. It includes admission, registration, student billing, financial aid, advancement, student services and other ERP functions.

Lane College is a four-year, private college serving 1,200 students in Jackson, TN.
