Sonic Foundry Launches Cloud-Based Videoconference Capture

Sonic Foundry today introduced Mediasite Join, a cloud service for recording videoconference sessions and turning them into searchable, on-demand video content. When users add Mediasite Join as a participant to a video call or meeting, the service automatically records, transcodes, indexes and publishes the material to an institution's Mediasite Cloud or Mediasite Enterprise Video Platform. The service is compatible with Cisco, Polycom, Tandberg, Lifesize and Vidyo systems.

Features include:

  • Interactive, dual-stream content: Record multi-point H.323 conferences with synchronized H.239 content; incorporate polls, bookmarks, sharing, related links and more;
  • Ability to auto-publish, organize and deliver conference recordings with Mediasite Showcase;
  • Video search and navigation: Auto-scan and index all audio, video and slide text for in-video search; and
  • Analytics (who is watching, when and for how long) for measuring the impact and reach of each video.
