U Massachusetts Launches its First Online Badge Program
The University of Massachusetts' online consortium, UMassOnline, has launched its first non-credit badge program.
Offered through UMass Boston's College of Advancing and Professional Studies, the "Project Risk Management badge is a self-paced online sequence of modules that covers the six steps of project risk management as prescribed by the Project Management Body of Knowledge," according to a news release. "These six steps consist of risk management planning, risk identification, qualitative risk analysis, quantitative risk analysis, risk response planning and risk control."
Available each year January through December, the badge comprises three modules: Inputs to Risk Management, Risk Management Planning and Risk Identification and Risk Response Planning and Implementation. Each module contains a video lecture, reading materials and a self-paced test. Once they complete all three modules, students are awarded a badge for their resume or social media feeds.
