ProQuest Adds 30 Million Pages to Digital Historical Collections

ProQuest is adding almost 30 million pages of digitized materials to its Historical Collections program this year.

Historical Collections includes primary sources from 1455 to today, such as newspapers, magazines, periodicals, books, government resources and video. New content being added this year includes:

• News, Policy & Politics Magazine Archive, which includes "15 major serials spanning areas such as current events, international relations and public policy. A cornerstone of the archive is cover to cover digitization and article-level indexing of every issue of Newsweek published from its founding in 1933," according to a news release;
• The third module of Historical Statistical Abstracts of the United States, spanning 1878-1928 and completing the "stat ab" archive";
• Declassified documents from the National Security Archive;
• Digitized documents from the United States State Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation;
• Collection 9 of Early European Books; and
• University of Southern California's Shoah Foundation Visual History Archive.

ProQuest seeks out and enters into strategic partnerships to find and digitize this unique content to support the mission of the library as well as student achievement and researcher success."
