Payment Gateway Adds Campus Card Processing Integration

A company with a gateway to connect various kinds of wireless devices with different modes for payment has struck an agreement with a major campus card provider to integrate their respective technologies. Apriva, which produces the Apriva Gateway, has certified its capability to work with ITC Systems, which has a university campus card solution that allows students to pay for meals, store purchases, parking and other expenses.

Apriva's gateway now offers a direct connection to ITC's campus card transaction processing system, including credit card readers in campus vending machines and copiers. The gateway, with built-in encryption, tokenization and EMV chip technology, provides connections to 35 processors, accepting campus cards as well as all major debit and credit cards.

"Students today want to be able to use their campus cards everywhere, from on-campus purchases at vending machines, laundry facilities, parking meters, bookstores, student unions, etc. to off-campus purchases at surrounding merchant locations," said Stacey Finley Tappin, a member of Apriva's sales and marketing team, in a news release.

Finley Tappin said the integration provided by her company gives the "1,100-plus partners and resellers" with a presence in the university market "another campus card processing solution to offer to their end customers."

Among Apriva's higher education customers are the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and the University of British Columbia.
