Rutgers U, Volute Partner on Personalized Learning Marketplace

The Center for Online and Hybrid Learning and Instructional Technologies (COHLIT) at Rutgers University in New Jersey has partnered with Volute to launch the Volute Marketplace, where universities can bundle and share personalized education solutions.

According to a news release, the Volute Marketplace is a "new sharing economy model for universities." Higher education institutions can combine web components called Volute Apps to create personalized education bundles, a concept that the company calls "composable education."

Rutgers University is in the process of developing a package of Volute Apps, including an advanced learning management system (LMS), an online program management (OPM) system and administrative tools. The university will first use its Volute App package in house as a knowledge management and collaboration environment for faculty and staff. Rutgers then plans to expand the package to include learning tools for students and alumni at all 30 of its schools. The university also plans to make its package of Volute Apps available to all of Volutes' university members through the Volute Marketplace.

"We are always looking for technology that improves our ability to aggregate and associate information in meaningful and specialized ways," said Richard Novak, vice president of continuing studies at Rutgers, in a prepared statement. "The partnership with Volute allows us to create custom digital environments that support the end-to-end innovation of our services."

Further information about the Volute Marketplace can be found on Volute's site.
