The financial aid process can be complicated and time-consuming, but students at the University of California, Davis are able to evaluate their options and make critical financial aid decisions from their smartphones. The university teamed up with CampusLogic earlier this year to deploy an end-to-end student financial aid engagement platform.

The company aims to “increase affordability, reduce student borrowing and drive down the cost of financial aid administration” according to its website. Students can use the CampusLogic platform to fill out forms, manage award letters and view analytics with CampusMetrics. The last is a library of pre-built dashboards that provide “instant insights into application volume, Pell distribution, geography mapping of ISIRs and more.”

Three-quarters of UC Davis undergraduates receive some form of financial aid. Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships Deborah Agree said in news release, “Students need clear, personalized information to make decisions about how to pay for college. We believe technology can help our advisers spend less time on paperwork and more time providing one-on-one advising to guide students through the process.”
