Indiana U Rolls Out Automated Expense Management Tool

Faculty and staff at Indiana University will now be able to submit travel bookings and out-of-pocket expenses from any device, thanks to an automated expense management system from Chrome River. The institution is rolling out Chrome River EXPENSE, a cloud-based tool that will handle expense submission, pre-approvals and budget encumbrances and more across IU's eight campuses.

Chrome River EXPENSE will integrate with existing administrative systems at IU, including Kuali Financials, the university's travel booking solutions as well as its U.S. Bank procurement and travel card program. Chrome River ANALYTICS will provide data visualization tools to help manage spend and policy compliance.

"After a thorough RFP process, Chrome River EXPENSE was selected because it will seamlessly integrate with the Kuali Financial System used by IU, and will allow us to streamline our processes through automation, while at the same time strengthen policy compliance and internal controls," said Jill Schunk, chief procurement officer at Indiana University, in a statement. "Through its built-in analytics, Chrome River EXPENSE will also provide users greater insights into expense data, which will enhance our ability to focus resources on mission priorities."

"For IU's faculty and staff, an easy-to-use, mobile-optimized solution takes the process of submitting travel and other expenses from a major administrative headache to an effortless task," commented Chrome River CEO Alan Rich.
