Santa Clara U Takes E-Portfolios Campuswide
In an effort to boost the use of e-portfolios and provide an ongoing platform for student reflection, Santa Clara University is rolling out Portfolium e-portfolio and assessment software campuswide. The software will be integrated with the institution's Canvas learning management system, making it easier to link learning artifacts to coursework.
"We hope use of Portfolium will increase usage of e-portfolio assignments across the curriculum. This includes usage of e-portfolios beyond academics, e.g., in Student Life and Career Services, so that each student's portfolio becomes a true and complete reflection of student accomplishments, skills and talents over their four year journey at SCU," said Nancy Cutler, deputy CIO for academic technology, in a statement.
Both students and alumni will receive free access to Portfolium for life. Through the platform's reporting and analytics capabilities, the university will be able to measure student progress both through graduation and beyond.
