The Foundation for California Community Colleges' purchasing program, CollegeBuys, has entered into a five-year partnership with Nelnet Campus Commerce to offer the company's mobile-friendly payment processing solutions across the community college system's 115 institutions.

With Nelnet's payment technology, students can receive bills electronically and submit payments via mobile device. The system can process and track every payment made across campus and allows students to manage payment plans, receive refunds and make payments securely on the go, according to the company.

The new partnership expands on an existing deployment at West Valley-Mission Community College District, where students particularly responded to the technology's modern interface and paperless billing, according to a news announcement. "Our partnership with Nelnet Campus Commerce has brought a state-of-the-art solution to our staff and students," commented Ron Smith, director of information systems at West Valley-Mission Community College District.

"This partnership offers our colleges and students a simple solution that saves them time and money," added Jorge J.C. Sales, executive director of program development at the Foundation for California Community Colleges, in a statement. "Technology solutions such as this are critical to creating efficiencies and allowing students to focus on achieving their educational goals."
