Echo360 Launches Universal Capture App

Video platform company Echo360 has introduced Universal Capture, software that enables video recording and streaming across multiple computing platforms via a unified interface. That means instructors can record and share video on Mac and Windows computers, inside or outside of the classroom, with an identical user experience on each device.

Features of the software include:

• Scheduled and on-demand lecture capture on both Mac or Windows devices;
• Intuitive user interface, including one-click capture; and
• No dedicated hardware required (the application also runs on optional Echo360 capture appliances).

"With the Universal Capture application, we've tried to remove barriers preventing faculty from utilizing video capture technology and provide them with an easy way to record video and extend active learning beyond the classroom," noted Fred Singer, founder and CEO of Echo360, in a statement.

"Students today want 24/7 access to high-quality course content — making it easier to review content on-the-go or revisit it before and after class.
