Concentric Sky Partnership Brings Digital Credentialing Tools to Blackboard

Blackboard has partnered with Concentric Sky, maker of the Badgr digital credentialing platform, to integrate micro-credential and stackable learning pathway tools into the Blackboard Learn learning management system.

Badgr's new "Spaces" feature, first available in Blackboard Learn, allows students to earn personalized digital credentials, document skills and competencies, and share their achievements, all within the LMS. Instructors can align digital badges with course objectives and learning outcomes. Other features include objective-based automations, leaderboards and personalized pathway progress visualizations.

"Verifiable, skill-aligned micro-credentials are fast becoming the currency by which learners and employers improve the connections between learning outcomes and employment opportunities," said Wayne Skipper, founder of Concentric Sky, in a statement. "We're excited to collaborate with Blackboard to integrate Badgr's stackable digital credentialing technology into Blackboard Learn."
