2U Introduces edX Boot Camps

Online learning company 2U has moved its boot camp offerings to the edX brand with the introduction of edX Boot Camps, intensive technology training programs designed to meet the upskilling and reskilling needs of working adults. As part of the launch, 2U is officially retiring the "Trilogy Education Services" brand name.

The edX portfolio of online degrees, certificates, and other education programs now features more than 200 boot camps, available in 24-week part-time or 12-week full-time formats. Programs focus on high-demand technology fields including web development, data analytics, UX/UI, cybersecurity, fintech, digital marketing, and project management. Boot camps include up to 240 hours of live online classroom instruction paired with project-based work, asynchronous resources, and 24/7 tutoring support, as well as career-planning services such as one-on-one coaching, résumé templates and reviews, interview preparation toolkits, and virtual career events, according to a news announcement. And beginning in 2023, edX will offer boot camp participants and alumni with "complementary pathways of free technical courses and program recommendations" to support their career advancement.

2U also announced that it will expand its Access Partnerships boot camp scholarship program, which connects boot camp programs with funding from local workforce agencies and corporate, nonprofit, and government organizations to "help cities grow and diversify their tech workforces." The partnerships have already been established at the University of Central Florida, University of Denver, University of Oregon, University of Utah Professional Education, Tulsa Community College, and the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
