Moodle 2.3.1 Addresses Security Issues

Moodle's developers have released Moodle 2.3.1 just two weeks after the last major (2.3) update. The new version (along with updates to four other development branches) addresses minor bugs and also corrects some as-yet-unspecified security vulnerabilities.

Moodle's developers have not yet released details of the security fixes in version 2.3.1. According to Moodle's support page, "A number of security related issues were resolved. Details of these issues will be released after a period of approximately one week to allow system administrators to safely update to the latest version."

In addition to security fixes, the 2.3.1 update adds minor enhancements to unit tests, plugin notifications, and color switcher compatibility.

Security updates and other minor updates were also released for branches 1.9 through 2.2, bringing those branches to versions 1.9.19, 2.0.10, 2.1.7, and 2.2.4.

All of the updates are available now. Additional details can be found on Moodle's support pages. Current builds can be found on the Moodle download page.
