Rhode Island School of Design Implements Spend Management Solution
The Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) has implemented a new system to manage the school's spending and suppliers.
RISD had been looking for a solution that fit within the school's budget and could integrate with its financial system, Colleague by Ellucian. After evaluating its options, the school selected easyPurchase from ESM Solutions, a provider of spend management solutions for the public sector.
easyPurchase is an integrated electronic procurement and sourcing solution, and according to ESM, it will help RISD streamline its processes and save money. The school plans to integrate easyPurchase with its financial system, Colleague by Ellucian, to give school administrators a better picture of how money is being spent and manage their suppliers.
"I've worked with other eProcurement providers, and it was important to me to work with a company that took the time to understand the unique requirements of our college," said James Newman, director of procurement services for RISD, in a prepared statement. "With ESM Solutions' experience and integration success, I am confident the procurement process will improve for the department and our user community, enabling us to be efficient and diligent with spending school funds."
The Rhode Island School of Design serves more than 2,400 students and is one of the oldest colleges of art and design in the United States.
