Reeher Updates University Fundraising Platform

Software to help colleges and universities manage their fundraising efforts has just been updated to include visibility into overall program performance. The Reeher Platform, made by St. Paul, MN-based Reeher, now offers an "advancement layer," which provides users with a comprehensive view of their programs' successes, opportunities, and development activities, tabulated from daily updates of the donor databases.

The new functionality has two sections, an executive summary and an advancement operating report. Each view displays a detailed look at measures such as fiscal year comparison by donor type, school of graduation, and giving level.

"We have been using the Reeher Platform for a few months and have integrated its capabilities into our operating routines," said James Miller, associate vice president for development and alumni relations at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. "The advent of the Advancement Layer provided a significant enhancement to an already comprehensive and responsive platform, and we are now capable of generating an instantaneous '30,000 foot' perspective of our year-to-date results compared to past several years' performance, with just a few simple clicks of the mouse."

The fundraising system from Reeher is part Web-based application, part analytics, and part professional networking. Each subscription to the service includes a set of predictive model scores for all constituents in an institution's donor database to uncover the best prospects, Web-based tools for use by various roles within the organization, and connection to a peer network of institutional fundraising executives.

"As part of the network of Platform subscribers, customers give us direct input about exactly what they need to be more effective advancement leaders in the face of significant change in our industry," said President Andrew Reeher. "With our new Advancement Layer, the Reeher Platform becomes an even more powerful system for seeing the daily progress of their fundraising efforts and helping their staff identify opportunities for improvement."

Other university users include Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Xavier in Cincinnati, and Drexel in Philadelphia.
