Teambox Launches On-Premise Collaboration Platform

Teambox has released a new collaboration and communication platform called Teambox On-Premise, which is designed to be installed behind an organization's firewall.

According to a news release, the company designed Teambox On-Premise for organizations that can't use cloud-hosted services because of strict regulatory compliance, security, or data protection requirements. Teambox On-Premise is designed to be installed on existing hardware, behind the organization's Internet firewall.

Teambox On-Premise supports collaboration, task management, and file sharing while providing organizations with complete control over their data and infrastructure, according to the company. It offers many of the same features as the company's hosted solution, Teambox Pro.

Key features of Teambox On-Premise include:

  • Support for multiple organizations, unlimited projects, and unlimited storage;
  • Task management, task list templates, and task creation and management by email;
  • Discussions;
  • File sharing and file sharing by email;
  • Time tracking;
  • Gantt diagrams;
  • Calendar;
  • Organization-wide search;
  • Email notifications;
  • Reply by email;
  • Role-based permissions;
  • SSL encryption;
  • Customizations;
  • iPhone and iPad apps; and
  • Other optional apps.

In the future, the company plans to add support for group chat, Dropbox integration, and Box integration, according to the Teambox website.

"The Teambox On-Premise solution offers a way for many organizations to quickly deploy within existing security practices, standards, and infrastructure," said Sean Sherman, security and compliance expert, in a prepared statement.

Teambox On-Premise is available now at a starting price of $15 per seat per month with a minimum one-year term.

The company will he hosting a webinar, "Introducing Teambox On-Premise," on Thursday, April 18 at 10:00 a.m. PT.
