West Georgia Tech Turns to Private Partner for Online Career Prep

West Georgia Technical College has selected a private partner to provide online career training for student in its Community Education department.

Aimed at students preparing for careers in healthcare, technology and administration, the new training programs will be provided by Career Step. The new "programs incorporate feedback from employers with many of the courses preparing students to earn nationally recognized certifications from the leading trade organizations in these respective fields," according to a news release. "Specific industry associations have also evaluated the courses, and students receive extensive graduate support to help turn their educations into jobs."

"We are very pleased to team up with Career Step," said Anita Williams, director of economic development at West Georgia Technical College, in a prepared statement. "This is just another way we can help individuals in our area improve their employment opportunities. Career Step programs offer unparalleled flexibility for students to complete relevant training quickly, enabling them to start earning a good income fast."
