NEC Intros 4 Projectors Designed for Flexibility

Four new projectors from NEC Display Solutions of America bring the flexibility-oriented features of high-end installation models — such as horizontal and vertical keystone correction, horizontal and vertical lens shift and more — to devices for small- and medium-sized conference rooms and classrooms. The P Series includes two WXGA models (the P452W and P502W, offering 4,500 lumens and 5,000 lumens of brightness, respectively) and two 1080p models (the P452H and P502H; 4,500 lumens and 5,000 lumens).

The P Series projectors are designed with installation challenges in mind, according to the company. "Installers often face the unenviable task of trying to make new projectors work in the same mounting locations as previous models," said Richard McPherson, senior product manager of projectors at NEC Display, in a press release. "That's no longer an issue with the new P Series projectors. Horizontal and vertical lens shift provides installation flexibility, and combined with horizontal and vertical keystone, images can be squared onto the screen with ease."

Other specs and features include:

• Single chip DLP;
• Quick Start function;
• Up to 6,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio;
• Input panel with three digital connections, including Dual HDMI and HDBaseT, plus a separate LAN connection for network and asset management;
• Image Express Lite Utility function, allowing up to 16 devices to be wirelessly connected to each projector concurrently; Multiscreen projection 3D and adjustable light source; and
• Integrated software applications such as DisplayNote, Crestron Roomview, AMX Beacon and PJ Link.

The P502W and P502H projectors ship this month at a MSRP of $2,299 and $2,999, respectively (the P452W and P452H will be available at a later date). For more information, visit the NEC site.
