Florida State U Expands Use of E-Procurement

Florida State University (FSU) has recently gone public with its expanded use of an e-procurement suite in an effort to improve visibility into its procurement processes.

The university began working with SciQuest in 2008, using the company's Source-to-Settle Suite, and decided to consolidate all its e-procurement on one platform in 2015.

"In addition, the organization will be able to consolidate shopping tools and avoid redundant data entry," according to a news release. "These changes will create a more user-friendly system to encourage greater adoption which will subsequently increase spend under management throughout the organization. Based on current projections, the new solutions Florida State University is procuring will generate millions of dollars of savings over the life of the contract yielding an expected return on their investment of more than five times the value of their total costs."

New tools adopted by FSU include Spend Director, Sourcing Director and Total Supplier Manager.

"One of our main goals is to provide our end users with the most user friendly and efficient procurement experience possible," said Ian Robbins, chief procurement officer at FSU, in a prepared statement. "With SciQuest's suite of solutions, we will have greater visibility into the entire procurement process and have the ability to maximize our spend with our contracted suppliers."
