Destiny Solutions Updates Non-Traditional Higher Ed Management Software

Destiny Solutions has released a new version of its software, Destiny One, designed to help colleges and universities manage and support non-traditional education programs, including professional development, non-credit continuing education and corporate-sponsored training.

Among the new features of Destiny One 5.0 are:

  • Language packs that will allow schools to offer their public-facing websites in different languages, opening up their services to prospective students in other parts of the world;
  • A new encrypted credit card payment option that will allow registration and finance staff members to accept in-person credit card payments by swiping the card rather than typing in credit card information. With the P2P encrypted payment option, the credit card information remains encrypted throughout the process, assuring security of the information;
  • Seven new web services that expand the ability of Destiny One to communicate with third-party software applications. Among other things, it makes it possible to work programmatically with group or student records, enroll students in course sections or use a new automated notification service when designated events occur;
  • Additional financial enhancements that can expand the ability to manage payments and refunds. For instance, administrators can now automate credit card refunds for course drops and transfers or pay invoices using credit cards and
  • International and specialty programs manager enhancements that allow students to use a self-service shopping cart when enrolling online.

"These new enhancements give schools more flexibility in the way they work and allow them to continue to serve their students effectively," said Destiny Solutions President and CEO Shaul Kuper.

Previously, Destiny One offered:

  • Search engine optimization;
  • A branded Web presence;
  • Data mining;
  • Targeted marketing campaigns;
  • A dashboard that provides monitoring of degree progression and student goals in real time; and
  • Cross-marketing of courses.

Destiny One also provides financial and operational reporting tools such as analysis of marketing campaigns and enrollments and profitability of courses and programs. The software consolidates data across students, partners, courses and programs.
