California State U Selects Private partner to Streamline Admissions

California State University (CSU) has teamed up with a private partner in an effort to streamline its admissions processes.

Following a review process that included proposals from 10 different vendors, CSU selected UniCAS, from Liaison, to manage approximately 1,000,000 yearly applications across 23 campuses.

CSU currently has about 474,600 enrolled students, approximately 48,000 more than just four years ago. Adopting UniCAS allows CSU "to maintain the unique admissions requirements of individual programs while collecting compatible, comparable data across programs on one easy-to-use platform," according to a news release. "In addition to offering an exceptional, intuitive and highly responsive application experience for prospective students, UniCAS saves admissions officers time through integrated applicant services that remove the burden of manual administrative tasks like transcript authentication, coursework verification and GPA recalculation."

"Nearly 50 percent of all bachelor's degrees and over 30 percent of all master's degrees awarded in California are from the CSU. Conferring that many degrees means processing approximately one million applications each year and those numbers continue to grow," said April Grommo, director of enrollment management services at CSU, in a prepared statement. "UniCAS will help us provide a better application experience to prospective students who apply for our high-quality academic programs. It will also provide our admissions offices with comprehensive data across all campuses and programs."
