U Nevada Reno Turns to Private Partner to Support Online Master's Programs

The University of Nevada, Reno is expanding an existing partnership with a private party to launch an online master of public health (MPH) degree in spring of 2017.

The school is extending its work with Pearson, which it partnered with to launch an online master of social work (MSW) program launching this fall.

As a result of the expanded partnership, Pearson will provide marketplace research, consulting on program design, institutional preparedness assessment, student support focused on retention, course development, around-the-clock helpdesk services and faculty training for the new program through its online program management (OPM) group.

"We are excited to offer an online option to enhance and expand the practical skills needed for a successful career in public health practice," said Trudy Larson, director of the School of Community Health Sciences, in a news release. "Whether students are currently working in public health or new to the field, we believe this curriculum offers them an opportunity to develop skills that will make them highly competitive in many careers."
