Unizin Partners with McGraw-Hill Education for Inclusive Access Program
Unizin, the nonprofit consortium of 25 member universities, has teamed up with McGraw-Hill Education to combat the high cost of textbooks. The deal will make the company's digital learning materials available to nearly 1 million students through an "Inclusive Access" model, which automatically provides students with their course materials on the first day of class for a low, flat fee.
Students and faculty will have access to the materials through Unizin's Engage e-book platform or McGraw-Hill Education's Connect digital learning platform. Learning analytics data from both organizations will funnel into the Unizin Data Platform.
"We share a commitment with McGraw-Hill Education to improve the learning experience while making course materials more accessible and affordable," said Brad Wheeler, Unizin board member and Indiana University vice president for IT, in a statement. "This agreement is a breakthrough and new standard for reducing the cost of attendance while ensuring that every student has the essential course materials for the first day of class."
