Kaltura Intros Video Messaging Tool

Video platform provider Kaltura has introduced Kaltura Pitch, a video messaging tool that allows users to create and share personalized video messages via desktop or mobile device, and provides data reports for measuring recipient engagement.

Kaltura Pitch analyzes which parts of a video message interest recipients the most, and then sends real-time alerts on individuals the sender should follow up with, including recommendations on when and how future messages should be sent. Users can also put together libraries of video content and attach them as playlists to video messages. The tool tracks viewership of both the main video messages and the attachments, including when a message has been forwarded to another viewer.

"Video is a personal and effective means of communication," explained Michal Tsur, Kaltura's co-founder, president and general manager for Enterprise & Learning, in a statement. "Our customers use video messaging as an additional layer of communication, in addition to webcasting, podcasting, video calls, and video-on-demand. When I send an e-mail, I can tell whether it was opened, but I cannot really know how much of it has been read. Video messaging allows me to know exactly how much has been watched and by whom. This is a very powerful engagement tool for enterprises and educational institutions who are looking for deeper and more meaningful analysis of their communication tactics." She added, "Educational institutions have … started adopting Kaltura Pitch for both alumni and admissions communications, as well as in certain courses, where professors use e-mail communications with their classes."
