  • Gen Zers Look to Teachers First, YouTube Second for Instruction

    Students in Generation Z would rather learn from YouTube videos than from nearly any other form of instruction. YouTube was designated as the preferred mode of learning by 59 percent of Gen Zers in a survey on the topic, compared to in-person group activities with classmates (mentioned by 57 percent), learning applications or games (47 percent) and printed books (also 47 percent). The only method of instruction that beat out YouTube? Teachers.

  • Innovative Presidents Finding Ways to Use Social Media for Student Engagement

    A new report that examines how college presidents interact with students shares how the most innovative leaders have gone beyond the standard fare (photo opportunities and participation in service events) to embrace social and digital mechanisms. "Presidential Engagement of Students at Minority Serving Institutions" was produced by the Penn Center for Minority Serving Institutions, within the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education.
