Moving the Needle on Equity and Digital Literacy: What Students Really Need to Succeed

Bridging the digital divide is about more than simply putting technology into the hands of students. It’s about ensuring that students have the devices, the broadband access, the digital skills, the right tools and resources, and even the physical space to be successful. And while the pandemic has thrust digital equity issues into the spotlight, it has also made clear that equity gaps are not a COVID issue; they are an ongoing challenge to overcome. In this webcast, a panel of higher education leaders will discuss the impact of remote learning on equity, meeting students’ technology needs, how to boost digital literacy, and strategies for student success through the pandemic and beyond.

Panelists:

  • Marina Aminy, Executive Director, California Virtual Campus
  • Thomas Hoover, Chief Information Officer, Louisiana Tech University
  • Phil Ventimiglia, Chief Innovation Officer, Georgia State University
  • Anne Marie Richard, Associate CIO and Director, Student Affairs IT, University of California, Berkeley
