Developing the Dream: A Community College Cloud Story
For many Americans, community colleges are the on-ramp for achieving economic success, personal development, and social mobility. Linn-Benton Community College (LBCC), serving two Oregon counties with six campuses in four cities, is such an institution, delivering a wide range of classes and services to a diverse population of learners.
Billing themselves as “dream-developers,” LBCC turned to technology to do just that. Their IT leadership moved their legacy on-premises Ellucian Banner system to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. In the process, they were able to significantly cut costs, harden their security posture and implement a disaster recovery process preventing data loss from natural disasters such as fires and floods.
