Texas A&M University System Graduates to Nutanix

The Texas A&M University System, with an annual budget of over $4.2 billion is one of the largest higher education systems in the nation. Through a statewide network of 11 universities, 7 state agencies, 2 service units, and a comprehensive health science center, the system educates more than 140,000 students and makes more than 22 million additional educational contacts through service and outreach programs each year.

Prior to adopting Nutanix, Texas A&M moved its critical business services on multiple racks to a virtual environment and found they were spending a great deal of admin time managing the solution. According to Cary Tschirhart, Manager and ISO, Information Technology Services, the shift to Nutanix allowed the university “... to keep up with (its) fast growth rate with a very small IT team (which) would not have been possible if (the team had not) migrated to Nutanix and the Acropolis Hypervisor.”
