MGH Institute Adopts Phase Forward Courseware

The MGH Institute of Health Professions has signed on to use online courseware from Phase Forward for the institute's graduate program in clinical investigation. MGH offers both a master of science degree and a certificate of advanced study in clinical investigation.

According to Phase Forward, the company worked on a pro bono basis to develop and deploy custom course materials, presentations, and demonstrations for graduate students at MGH. The company is also providing a trainer to introduce electronic data capture and data management methods to students. These students will also have access to Phase Forward's online training materials.

"Our relationship with Phase Forward helps us to meet one of the key objectives of our Clinical Investigation program: to give students real-world experience with the types of technology they will be using on the job," said James Parmentier, associate professor for the graduate program in clinical investigation at MGH, in a prepared statement. "We're pleased to be able to offer our students access to state of the art software and experts who have trained professionals at some of the leading pharmaceutical and biotech companies around the world."

MGH is an academic affiliate of Massachusetts General Hospital serving about 800 students in post-baccalaureate degree and certificate programs. Phase Forward is a data management service provider whose tools include InForm (electronic data capture), Clintrial (clinical data management), and various other health- and pharmaceutical-related technologies.
