Tulane U Launches LiveWorld Community Center
In an effort to reach out to newly admitted high school seniors, Tulane University, New Orleans, LA, has expanded its online community presence with the launch of its new Tulane Community Center. The new service is built on the Community Center platform from LiveWorld.
The Tulane Community Center is designed to give high school seniors who have recently been admitted to the university a way to communicate with counselors and each other. It includes a community page, student blogs, a calendar, profiles, and forums.
"Our goal is to ease the new student's transition into university life and give the students a place to obtain answers to their questions, form friendships and build anticipation and excitement about Tulane University life," said Earl Retif, vide president of enrollment management for Tulane, in a prepared statement. "In addition to being a leader in its product category, LiveWorld has been a great support of our Tulane family in a time of crises and now in a time of rebirth and growth."
Tulane University serves approximately 10,600 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students at its main campus in New Orleans and its research center, two satellite campuses, four health sciences centers, and satellite business school in Houston.
Software is being provided for the Tulane Community Center on a pro bono basis by LiveWorld and partner Jive Systems.
