Howard Builds Web Presence on SiteExecutive
Howard Community College in Maryland was looking for a way to transform its website into a more user-centric information vehicle that was also designed with security in mind. The college announced this week that it has done that with SiteExecutive from Systems Alliance.
According to Howard, the three goals of its new site were to create an experience that would benefit its "primary stakeholders" and visitors; provide enhanced administrative features, including site policies for reviews and approvals for publishing; and reduce risks.
"With SiteExecutive, Howard Community College is delivering a better Web experience for site visitors, content authors, and IT," said Rick Pollard, Howard's director of technology services. "SiteExecutive improves control over the content lifecycle. Our Website now delivers more timely and accurate content, driving more Website visits, more online applications and more success for our school."
CentreTEK Solutions, the outside service provider that conducted the analysis of Howard's Web business requirements, suggested SiteExecutive for Web content management. Using the new system, more than 50 Howard faculty and staff generate content and build Web pages using SiteExecutive.
Howard was named one of the top tech-savvy community colleges in 2007 by the Center for Digital Education and the American Association of Community Colleges. In 2006, the college served about 7,000 students working toward degrees in 100 programs, with 14,000 others taking non-credit courses through its Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Development.
