Sanyo Shows Off 15,000-Lumen Projector with Wireless HD
Sanyo this week debuted debuted two new LCD projectors at the InfoComm show in Anaheim, CA. Both models are designed for high light output, including a 6,500-lumen portable model and a 15,000-lumen unit designed for large installations.
The professional-level PLC-XF47 offers 15,000 ANSI lumens of brightness via four 330-watt lamps. It also offers a native resolution of 1,024 x 768 and a contrast ratio of 2,000:1. Beyond the basic specs, it also includes a wireless video system supporting data rates up to 1.5 Gbps, capable of supporting uncompressed HD signals (720p and 1080i). Other features include:
- Durable Inorganic Optical System;
- PJ-Net Organizer Plus C, along with PJ-Net Master 2.0 software;
- Support for 12 different types of lenses to accommodate various throw distances and image sizes;
- "Hybrid Crosstalk Canceller" to eliminate ghosting of images and reduce signal interference on the LCD panels;
- Automated sharpness adjustments;
- Support for the Multi-Versatile Interface Platform;
- Inputs: DVI-D with HDCP, Mini D-sub 15, BNC x 5 (RGBHV), composite, S-video, serial, USB.
The PLC-XF47 is expected to ship in October for $29,995.
Also announced this week was the PLC-XP100L, a "portable" (25.8-pound) LCD projector boasting a brightness of 6,500 ANSI lumens, which Sanyo described as the "brightest" projector in its class. It achieves this through a single 330-watt lamp. The XP100L shares several features in common with the XF47, including:
- Durable Inorganic Optical System;
- PJ-Net Organizer Plus C, along with PJ-Net Master 2.0 software;
- A native resolution of 1,024 x 768;
- A contrast ratio of 2,000:1; and
- DVI-D with HDCP, Mini D-sub 15, BNC x 5 (RGBHV), component, composite, S-video, RS232, and USB inputs.
It also includes 10-bit video circuitry and an Active Maintenance Filter System that "automatically detects airflow and advances clean filter material when needed," according to Sanyo. The PLC-XP100L is expected to ship in September for $9,995.
