U Oklahoma Taps Day for Content Management

The University of Oklahoma will deploy Day Software's Communiqué, an enterprise Web content management suite, to help revamp the school's various portals for students, staff, and alumni.

According to Day, OU's website was previously difficult to navigate, and finding information on the site was a problem owing to a poor search engine. (I heard that.)  Communiqué will be used to make navigation more simple and to improve searches for text, images, and video for external visitors, as well as faculty and students.

"The University needed a system that would support all non-technical users within each administrative department, and Day best met our requirements," said Melanee Hamilton, Director Web Communications of the University of Oklahoma. "Communiqué is incredibly flexible and integrates perfectly with our existing systems. It allows us to maintain our own Web content within a controlled framework, ensuring a consistent look and feel among all of our Web pages for a robust, easily managed online presence."

The University of Oklahoma, based in Norman, OK, is a research institution that serves some 30,000 students.
