Sanyo Intros 1080p LCD Projector

Sanyo this week debuted the new PLV-Z2000, a 1080p HD LCD projector with high-end features priced around $3,000. These high-end features include a 15,000:1 contrast ratio and the ability to reproduce 216 billion color combinations through an adaptive color phase and color level management system.

The PLV-Z2000 offers a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 and includes the aforementioned 3D color management technology, known as Topaz Real HD. It produces 1,200 lumens of brightness and uses a uses a Durable Inorganic Optical System, which includes a polarizing film in addition to the projector's LCD panels.

Other features include:

  • Two HDMI 1.3 inputs;
  • Two component, one D-sub 15-pin, one composite (RCA), and one S-Video connectors;
  • Lens shifting up or down to three screen sizes and left to right to two screen sizes;
  • 2x zoom; and
  • Sirocco cooling fan (19 dB in economy mode).

The PLV-Z2000 HD projector weighs in at 16.5 lbs. and measures 15.75" (W) x 5.75" (H) x 13.62" (D). It's expected to ship next month for $2,995.99.
