Cash for Classrooms: AVerMedia Kicks Off Lesson Plan Contest
AV technology developer AVerMedia this week launched a new contest for K-12 and higher education: to develop a lesson plan centered around the use of a document camera. An AVerVision document camera and $1,000 (to be used for classroom technology purchases) will be awarded to the winning lesson plan in each of six subject areas.
For the contest, educators submit a lesson plan for one of six subject areas: math, science, English/language arts, history/social studies, art/music, and "other." In the plan, a document camera should be the central technology or demonstration device for the lesson. The grand prize for each category is a CP300 Portable Document Camera and $1,000. Lesson plan submissions will be made available to other educators via AVerMedia's Web site. Entries will be judged on "originality, creativity, and effective use of a document camera in the lesson itself," according to AVerMedia.
The AVerVision Lesson Plan Contest runs through April 18. Winners will be announced May 2. Information on the contest, including registration and submission requirements, can be found on AVerMedia's site, below.
